Dr. Pakorn Peetathawatchai

Former President, Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) 

Pakorn Peetathawatchai served as the President of The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) from June 2018 to September 2024. During his tenure, he held positions as Chairman of Thailand Clearing House, Thailand Securities Depository, Thai Digital Assets Exchange, and other subsidiaries of SET group as well as Vice Chairman of Thailand Futures Exchange. 

Prior to his presidency, Pakorn had been Senior Executive Vice President, and Chief Strategy and Finance Officer at SET from January 2013 to May 2018. In addition to overseeing the Capital Market Research Institution, the exchange's research arm, he served as Chief Marketing Officer from 2010 to 2012, overseeing products, customer services, and institutional relationships. Notably, he was the Vice-Chairman of the Emerging Markets Working Group and Director of the World Federation of Exchanges in 2018-2019. 

Before joining SET in 2010, Pakorn served as Senior Executive Vice President at Mitr Phol Sugar Corporation, in charge of Finance, Information Technology, and Risk Management. His extensive financial background includes positions as Head of Treasury Group at Siam Commercial Bank, Chairperson of the Investment Committee at Siam Commercial New York Life Insurance, and Advisor to the Investment Committee of the Government Pension Fund. 

Pakorn holds a Doctorate of Business Administration in Finance and Economics from Boston University.
